Hello and welcome to the PCS branch website for members in Cornwall. We will look to feature information particularly of interest to members in our region, and highlight some of the National matters both in the news and on the main PCS website too.
If there is a story or issue you would like to see featured, or would like to hear views from the Branch Executive Committee (BEC) on a particular subject, just get in touch and we’ll see what we can do about getting a response on the site for you. You can pass requests through local reps or use the contact details on the site.
On occasion we may provide links to information on other sites, although we cannot be responsible for content on 3rd party sites. If you find any broken links please let us know.
At 11am today (17/05/2018) it was announced to staff in Penhaligon House that ESA staff will be moved to UC sooner than expected. Training will begin in August and expected to be run over 3 tranches. Too, there will be a National Telephony Hub introduced in St Austell, with an expected 2-3 teams being moved to cover telephony roles.
St Austell will be 1 of 4 sites where a Telephony Hub is introduced. The hope is there will be sufficient volunteers to undertake these rolls to at least minimise the need for any selective action by management being required.
We expect there will be a Q&A produced to cover most of the questions staff are likely to ask, with a mail box set up for any additional questions to be submitted that might not be in the initial Q&A document.
Members can also send any questions they may have to local reps. We will look to collate and raise questions on behalf of members as appropriate.
There is already a query regarding FTA staff. It appears they have had their contracts extended, but will be remaining on ESA work. More info is needed on how this will be organised if all other staff are on UC.

Please see the latest information on the PCS website on the Attendance Management update.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces the Data Protection Act on 25 May, and PCS fully supports this. It also requires members need to make sure the data PCS holds is current for members.
You may have received an email, letter or text message from PCS recently asking you to review the details held. If you received an email it would show the details, if not, you would have a link to a web form. Members need to make sure they check and update information that is out of date, or to verify the information is correct, including a current private email address.
